Speaker Series: Dark Emu Black Seeds with Bruce Pascoe

Join Bruce Pascoe as he discusses the hidden histories of how the Aboriginal people across Australia used domesticated plants and engaged in sowing, harvesting, irrigating and storing.

Bruce is an Australian Indigenous writer from the Bunurong clan, of the Kulin nation. He has worked as a teacher, farmer, fisherman and Aboriginal language researcher. His book, Dark Emu Black Seeds: Agriculture of Accident? has been widely acclaimed as a ground-breaking publication providing compelling evidence that Aboriginal peoples developed permanent dwellings, food stores and sophisticated systems of governance and sustainable land care for thousands of years.

Enjoy this Tastes like Sunshine speaker series with food provided by First Food Co. and special guest entertainment from the Yerongpan Dancers.
