One small act can make a difference, and the brilliant Coffee Cup Recycling initiative at Parks Alive is proof. Patrons are invited to bring their empty coffee cups to the Plant Clinic on Lakeside Lawn, where one of the team will plant up a seedling for keeps.

As coffee cups are one of the most common pieces of rubbish taken to landfill, this little gesture eases the burden on Mother Nature to break it all down and keep the earth turning. The cups get a second life in a stranger’s garden and help to nourish the new earth they are re-planted in.
