The inaugural Unbound Flute Festival will take place July 1-3 at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University at South Bank.

Co-Directors Janet McKay and Michal Rosiak have created an exciting program featuring distinguished guest artists Claire Chase (U.S.A.) and Laura Chislett (Sydney AU), together with local Brisbane contemporary flute specialists. The festival includes sessions for composers, flute teachers, and flutists of all ages and levels together with recitals open to the general public.

Highlights include:
Friday July 1 – Opening Recital: International guest artist Claire Chase presents a stunning program of works for flute and electronics from her “Density 2036” project.
Saturday July 2: Lunchtime Recital: Brisbane’s finest and most adventurous musicians bring you an ear-tingling program of new music.
Saturday July 2 – Evening Recital: Guest artist Laura Chislett performs a program of scintillating Australian works for solo flute, drawn from her recent CD release “Flute Vox”.
Sunday July 3 – All Unbound Flute Festival participants are invited to be a part of the Silver Swarms flute ‘flash mobs’, to infiltrate South Bank with silvery sounds!
