StudioSvenja Exhibition and Sale
StudioSvenja presents textile art wall panels and prints from Svenja’s recent solo exhibition Algalrhythms. Inspired by her five-week residency on King Island in 2019, these works use free-motion embroidery, shibori shaping, needle and wet felting, leather moulding, and 3D pen printing to explore her experience on this wild island.
A collection of unique lino prints was also created, featuring hand coloured, gilded, and embossed versions. After opening on King Island, the exhibition toured regional galleries in South-East Queensland.
Also available are unique handmade wearable art pieces such as felted wraps and scarves, nuno felted garments, dyed devoré satin scarves, botanically dyed silk camisoles and scarves, and a range of ice-dyed rayon garments.
A lifetime Brisbane local, Svenja is an award-winning artist who enjoyed success in the iconic World of WearableArt (NZ) for a decade. She now continues her love of working in textiles by creating low-relief wall works and sculptural pieces. Her new exhibition DistoMorph opens at the end of this year.
