Hamlet

Hamlet

It’s 2015 and an ensemble of 15 young actors explore one of the greatest plays ever written – with one question – what does this play mean right now? This is Hamlet as you’ve never seen it before – stripped to its essence, and performed in the bare bones of Gardens Theatre. In 90 minutes of high-octane performance, the actors bring alive the corruption, hypocrisy and deceit of a society bearing striking similarities to our own, illuminating the crisis of conscience that affects its hero trying to make sense of the world he finds himself in, and of the bewildering roles it requires him to play. Directed by Mark Radvan, this highly physical ensemble production is aimed squarely at the contemporary sensibilities of young people.
