Fix My Room is a hands-on workshop and lecture on working with your own room, be it decorating a living room, bedroom, study, dining area or outdoor deck, to basic planing renovating a bathroom or kitchen.

Topics covered include:

– where to start and how a designer works to pull it all together

– drawing a to-scale floor plan with items placed in the room and how traffic flow works

– learning the basics in space planing with furniture and what are the correct sizes for your space

– get the lighting right

– narrowing down your style and sticking to it

– planing and keeping to budget

– building the ‘blue print plan’ for your design and not being distracted by ‘trends’

Light refreshments will be provided on the evening as part of the cost.

What you need to bring:

– photo of each wall in the room, photos of furniture you ‘must keep at all cost’ and their sizes (length and width)

– measurements of each wall including windows and doors

– photos on iPads, cut-outs from magazines or marker flagging photos in magazines or books of what you feel your style is or simply what you might like in the space

– A4 note pad or book

– pencil, eraser and ruler
