The Collective

Daryl Wark and Diane Lopes have combined their creative forces to open The Collective, a wide sun-filled spaced on Samford Road that brings together a group of like-minded creatives to offer both retail and design services. The Collective houses Daryl’s new concept, Interiors by Daryl Wark, which offers decorative items and homewares as well as a complete interior design service – from custom shutters, furniture, rugs and cushions through to full home design and renovation consultation. The larger space allows Daryl to showcase his wares (many of which are Brisbane made) and also makes way for intimate evening design classes. Diane’s second instalment of Green Tangerine also calls The Collective home. This space has a distinctly different feel to its older Paddington sibling, focusing more on artisan wares with a strong and clean aesthetic. A number of local ceramic artists are showcased, as well as jewellery, prints, planters and accessories – all equally practical as they are beautiful. The rest of The Collective is dedicated to pop-up stores with a few key criteria – that they are local, authentic and have a story. Each pop-up has a minimum six-weeks in the space, with many returning to The Collective on a seasonal basis.
