Twilight Notes 3: Enoch Arden

Twilight Notes 3: Enoch Arden

To realise the tragedy of Enoch Arden, it takes two of the country’s leading theatrical and classical forces combined. A National Living Treasure and renowned Bell Shakespeare founder, John Bell AO commands any stage. And Simon Tedeschi, as the hands of David Helfgott in film triumph Shine and a concert pianist to numerous world leaders, is a musician firmly of our time.

Ride a raft of emotion as Bell brings the narrative poem by English Poet Laureate Alfred, Lord Tennyson to life, and Tedeschi amplifies the romanticism of the score by Richard Strauss.

Surrender to this enthrallingly intense tale of a ship’s captain lost at sea and returning to a reality that has evolved without him. Then re-enter the evening in the glow of a great story, truly heard.
