Tibet on Fire Concert features folk dances and songs by Australia’s most exciting emerging Tibetan artists. 

Presented by Tenzing Yeshi from Melbourne, a graduate of the acclaimed Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) which is the most prominent, active and flourishing centre for Tibetan cultural arts. With original music by Japan based Tibetan artist Genyen Tenzin and fabulous traditional folk dances by Brisbane’s own Tibetan artists Kunsang Dekey, Tenzin Methok and Tenzin Sherab.

The second half of the concert will bring the Roaring Fire Choir back to the Festival to create a truly elegant, vibarnt vocal concert.  The Roaring Fire Choir (a combination of ‘Tongues of Fire’ and ‘Roar’ choirs) is led by local vocal legend, Yani Choirmistress. A singer, performer, facilitator and choir mistress, Yani treats her audiences to a wide array of musical styles ranging from Blues to Gospel, traditional African to Indian devotional and from Soul to Klezmer.
