The Cat Empire with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra
Legendary Australian band The Cat Empire will be joining forces with Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO) to perform some beloved classic tunes alongside exuberant new music. Experience this electrifying union between The Cat Empire and QSO for one night only at the Fortitude Music Hall, Thursday September 19 for a truly immersive concert experience.
Illuminating stages across the world for the past two decades, The Cat Empire has captivated millions with its energetic performances and explosive sounds. Continuing the legacy and leading a fresh new era for the band is Felix Riebl and Ollie McGill, two of the original three founding members of the group, who recently welcomed bassist Grace Barbe, drummer Daniel Farrugia and percussionist Neda Rahmani into the Empire.
New band members and influences have seen The Cat Empire moving to explore the vibrant worlds of Afro-Cuban, Seychellois Kreol, Brazilian and flamenco music. Featuring world-class flamenco artists, Richard Tedesco, Johnny Tedesco and Chantelle Cano, this performance will showcase a vibrant orchestral reinterpretation of The Cat Empire’s new material and classic hits, including ‘Hello’, ‘How to Explain’, and ‘Days Like These’.
