TEDxBrisbane – The Power of Intention

Instead of surfing the web for inspiration from the bounty of Tedx videos, you now have the opportunity to be a part of it all, up close and personal. Saturday October 14 marks the day when a 14-strong lineup of inspirational speakers congregates at the Edmund Rice Performing Arts Centre to speak on The Power of Intention at this year’s TEDxBrisbane 2023 event. The talent confirmed in this year’s estimable list of speakers include Chief Innovation Officer of Google Cloud Jim Hogan, Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Seaweed Institute Jo Kelly, and Former Queensland Australian of the Year, Dinesh Palipana. The event is also welcoming its first international speaker, CNN hero and social change adventurer, Aaron Jackson. Uniting thinkers, doers and changemakers from all walks of life on the stage and in the audience, TEDxBrisbane aims to inspire, inform and challenge. From there, networks grow, collaborations are sparked and lasting communal memories are made, generating intention and impact at every step. The topics this year will be as varied as using seaweed to reduce carbon emissions and championing innovation at work, through to the practicalities of helping refugees fleeing Ukraine.

Ticket release for this exciting event follows the inspiring 2022 TEDxBrisbane talk by graphic designer and social justice campaigner, Amanda Shepherd, which officially went live earlier this month on the TEDx YouTube Channel, which has 37.5 million subscribers. The talk outlined the positive impact of Amanda’s prison-based, not-for-profit graphic design agency Green Fox Studio, which is dedicated to training some of society’s most disadvantaged people.

This 12-hour flagship event not only includes an outstanding selection of speakers but will include live performances from stand-out acts, opportunities to meet and talk with the speakers, a great selection of food to satiate hunger, new taste sensations from local artisan producers, all-day barista-made coffee, a swag bag, networking opportunities, a rooftop after-party and more.

If you think you have an idea worth spreading, event attendees are invited to step onto the TEDxBrisbane stage and into the coveted red circle on event day as a finalist in the one-Minute-Pitch Competition. Entry to this competition is exclusively available to ticket holders.

The event goes from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and tickets range from $184 to $200. Early bird tickets are now on sale at a 20 percent discount here.
