Michael Winslow

Michael Winslow

The Man of 10,000 Voices’ Michael Winslow has landed in Australia ahead of his much anticipated return tour. Brisbane will be the first city to witness Winslow’s incredible talent, kicking off the tour at Hamilton Hotel this Friday before he makes his way across the country on his most extensive Australian tour to date.

The master of vocal gymnastics was last in Australia for Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2014, which saw him sell out a whopping nine Yarraville Club performances and pick up a bevy of rave reviews along the way including a four-star review from the Herald Sun.

When you think Police Academy you think vocal magician Michael Winslow, he  single-handedly redefined the concept of the human beatbox. And just as the Police Academy franchise continues to be a pop culture reference point, so too the incredible larynx of Michael Winslow. Notably, his is the only character to appear in all instalments of Police Academy including all seven movies, the cartoon and the television series.

A mix of impersonations, impressions, storytelling, music and sound effects, Winslow’s live show is not a traditional stand-up comedy routine but a sound-fuelled adventure that showcases his truly remarkable talent. He continues to push the boundaries of what the human voice can do – he’s not called the ‘Man of 10,000 Sound Effects’ for nothing.

His signature renditions of rock gods like Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, as well as a re-enactment of an entire Star Wars battle scene, have made Winslow’s live show a ‘must-see’ performance.

Now is your chance to see Winslow in the flesh as he makes a triumphant return to Australia.
