D&M by Danielle Clej and Michelle Eskola is an exhibition of shared paintings by The Cosmic Centre; a holistic space dedicated to the development of transcendental dialogue; bringing together art, angels, master teachers, goddesses and old friends from the past, present and future.

Danielle Clej’s practice initiates the formation of complex collaborative structures that parody artistic and social organisations and their relations. As part of fictive and pseudo-bureaucratic collectives, she explores a flexible, multi-skilled mode of art practice that includes curation, writing, publications, performances and installations. This discursive strategy establishes a critical relationship with the institutions and roles of contemporary art.

Michelle Eskola is a Brisbane based artist born in 1987 at Mount Beauty, Victoria. Eskola’s practice explores the intersection of polarities of light, space, abstraction and formation to investigate the role of painting in contemporary culture. This investigation focuses on the conventions of composition, illusion, repetition and display across digital and time-based media. This interest is influenced by her mixed Finnish and Australian cultural heritage.
