A timeless tale of love and tragedy with a contemporary twist will take over QPAC’s Playhouse Theatre in July, when Opera Queensland partners up with Circa for Dido and Aeneas. Mind-bending circus and magical melodies from Henry Purcell will collide at this one-of-a-kind marriage of circus and opera. Born from Virgil’s famed poem The Aeneid, this opera tells the story of star-crossed lovers Dido, Queen of Carthage, and Aeneas, the shipwrecked Trojan prince. This enchanting performance will take place at QPAC’s Playhouse Theatre from July 11–27.
