Creative Accounting

Creative Accounting

Creative Accounting explores ideas around money, economic systems, perceived value, and the aesthetics of currency at a time when money is becoming increasingly abstract. The exhibition traces the development of Australia’s financial and accounting systems and offers a fascinating insight into the evolution of banking and financial management practices over the last 200 years.

Creative Accounting unlocks a range of intriguing archival objects, and includes often underappreciated artefacts and cultural material held in regional collections across Australia. Complemented by this archival and historical material, the exhibition includes work by contemporary Australian and international artists who address its themes.
