Concrete & Grass: Outpost Brisbane
Get ready, Brisbane. Concrete & Grass is bringing an amazing line-up of Asian artists to these shores for an unforgettable night at the iconic Tivoli, where the best new talent from China, Malaysia, Japan and Korea will challenge your perceptions.
Headlining is South Korean guitar goddess MEMI, who stunned audiences at SXSW Austin earlier this year. With vibes reminiscent of St. Vincent and Jack White, MEMI is ready to show Brisbane that rock is very much alive.
Also taking the stage is the incredible Lunadira, who wowed crowds at SXSW 2023 after her COLOURS x STUDIO performance earlier in the year. Her US and Australian debuts were nothing short of spectacular, and now she’s bringing that magic to Brisbane.
From China, Lur: will be bringing their dark and moody post-punk sounds alongside Shanghai’s Loft Beach, who channel the spirit of the Beach Boys with a unique twist. Satoh will also join with their fresh take on j-rock meets hyperpop, straight from the streets of both Tokyo and New York.
Concrete and Grass has been a bridge between Asian and Western music scenes for almost 20 years, bringing Australian acts like Mallrat, Tkay Maidza, PVT, and DZ Deathrays to the region alongside global titans Ludacris, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Grandmaster Flash, Radwimps and Daddy Yankee. Now, they’re bringing Asia’s finest to Australia.
Don’t miss this vibrant celebration of Asian music and culture. Mark your calendars for September 6 at The Tivoli.
