Join a free, family friendly community music event in Rocklea’s Kookaburra Park between 11:00 am and 7:00 pm on Sunday January 25. Created by Brisbane-based youth engagement organisation Champion Sound, a bunch of local groups and organisations have come together to treat local families to a taste of the Caribbean over the Australia Day weekend. Inspired by London’s Notting Hill Carnival, the Brisbane Reggae Carnival features Champion Sound System, a purpose-built Jamaican-styled sound system built to deliver reggae music as it should be heard, along with guest artists and DJs. Enjoy live entertainment, market stalls, food and drinks, and a kids’ playground.
