Brisbane League of Extraordinary Women Breakfast with Kerrie Hess

The League of Extraordinary Women is the largest and fastest growing movement globally of budding female entrepreneurs and through this years bi-monthly breakfast series members will learn the strategies and secrets for success from a dynamic line-up of guest speakers.

Applauded internationally and at home for her luxurious and romantic illustrations, Kerrie Hess will speak at Brisbane’s League of Extraordinary Women Breakfast on April 21 and inspire women to chase their dream. Seeing age as no barrier, Kerrie Hess moved to London at 19 to pursue her dream of becoming an illustrator. Having studied Graphic Design at Griffith University, Kerrie had the courage to take on the world in what was considered a fairly unusual profession. “At the time I didn’t know anyone who did this for a living so I felt like I was creating a job for myself that didn’t really exist,” says Kerrie. It was an immediately successful leap, with commissions from VOGUE Australia and Topshop’s Arcadia Group. Then at 20, Kerrie had the opportunity to illustrate fashion windows for Neiman Marcus Department Store in the US. This prominent exposure led to high profile commissions for Christian Louboutin, NET-A-PORTER, Harvey Nichols and Laduree Paris.

In 2010, Kerrie released her first book, Shoestring Chic, which gives readers 101 tips for styling on a budget, a subject she is passionate about. Some of Kerrie’s career highlights include the installation of her illustrated billboards for Printemps Department Store in Paris, being the first Australian to exhibit in Dali’s former ballroom in Paris at Le Meurice Hotel, and illustrating the cover of Harper’s Bazaar Australia. Kerrie now lives in Brisbane with her son Marcel since returning from France.

Brisbane ladies can hear from Kerrie on April 21, and other inspiring guest speakers throughout the year. Sign up to the League movement and find out more about Kerrie online.
