Alliance Française French Film Festival
Alliance Française French Film Festival returns for its landmark 35th year, and is set to delight Brisbane audiences and film fanatics when it lands at Palace Barracks and Palace James Street cinemas from March 5 to April 2.
Viewers will be whisked from their seats to Paris, Cannes, Mali, and beyond with an utterly captivating program of 41 films, which this year spotlights contemporary creation, focusing on the emerging talents and innovative voices shaping the French cinematic landscape.
The 2024 Alliance Française French Film Festival will open with D’Artagnan, a unique adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’s thrilling and beloved classic novel The Three Musketeers. The program features everything from charming period dramas and whimsical comedies to tantalising thrillers, and timeless classics, including new drama Jeanne du Barry, starring Johnny Depp in his first French-speaking role, as well as the Australian premiere of The President’s Wife – an uproarious comedy based on actual eventswhere legendary French actress Catherine Denevue plays Bernadette Chirac.
