Alliance Française French Film Festival

The food, the wine, the fashion, the lifestyle … France has that certain je ne sais quoi we just adore. From March 17 to April 13 2021, we invite you to say “oui, oui” to the annual Alliance Française French Film Festival at Palace Barracks and Palace James Street cinemas, continuing Brisbane’s celluloid love affair with all things French for the 32nd year.

The Alliance Française French Film Festival 2021 has a thrilling cinematic line-up that will immerse you in the thorough passionate storytelling, sophisticated humour, taut thrillers and films that highlight the rich cultural diversity of the French-speaking world.

Celebrate France’s joie de vivre through 37 movies that feature the crème de la crème of European actors, directors and screenwriters taking audiences on a thrilling journey with a spectacular selection of contemporary and classic French films, many enjoying their Australian premiere.

The Brisbane arm of the festival will launch on Wednesday March 17 with a screening of Eiffel, an utterly enchanting tale about one of France’s most iconic structures, kick-starting a memorable voyage into the broad spectrum of French cinema.

Another highlight of the festival is the mouth-watering new film from director extraordinaire Éric Besnard, Delicious, which depicts France’s enduring love affair with gastronomy. Closing out the festival will be #IAmHere, an endearing culture-clash comedy about a French chef seeking love and inspiration on the other side of the world.
