Angela Carter's: The Tiger's Bride

Angela Carter’s: The Tiger’s Bride

“My father lost me to The Beast at cards.”

Come on a journey into the darkness, with a girl who finds herself in the hands of a fearsome creature against her wishes. How will she respond to his demands?

This beautiful magical realist performance is an original adaptation of Angela Carter’s short story The Tiger’s Bride by director Belinda Locke and playwright Krystal Sweedman. Featuring Helen Stephens and Cameron Clark with piano accompaniment by international concert pianist Mark Gasser. Angela Carter’s The Tiger’s Bride is the final creative output for Belinda Locke’s PhD study at Queensland University of Technology researching the use of magical realism in theatre to liberate marginalised, female voices.

The venue is wheelchair accessible. If you require Auslan interpretation, audio description, or have any other requests regarding accessibility please contact [email protected] prior to booking.
