MELT: The Exhibition

MELT: The Exhibition

During MELT the walls of Brisbane Powerhouse will come alive with imagery from a diverse range of queer artists. The space will be transformed by the MELT group art show, which features the work of photographer Hillary Green, the paintings of Dan Webb and a thought provoking triptych from Jennifer Leonforte.

HILLARY GREEN BLACK BY POPULAR DEMAND
Where does the performance ends and the “real” person start? Via a selection of hyper-real portrait photographs, Green examines ideas of selfhood, representation and performance-identity.

DAN WEBB BOYS OF SUMMER
Evoking memories of teenage summers spent lifesaving, Webb draws upon the beauty of boys in (and out of) speedos, colours of gold and bronze, and the crisp white sands of Bondi’s shores.

JENNIFER LEONFORTE MIDDLE SEX
As a cisgendered, bisexual girl, Leonforte explores the constricts of binary gender, the grey area of the gender spectrum and the expectations which limit self-expression of respective genders.
