Help out our favourite furry friends with Lindt’s new limited-edition chocolate koala

Us sweet-toothed Aussies are no strangers to enjoying some of our favourite homegrown animals in chocolate form – whether it be Freddo Frogs, Caramello Koalas or the ultimate Easter treat, the chocolate Bilby. Now, we have a new animal-shaped confectionery to bite into thanks to the cocoa enthusiasts at Lindt, who have moulded a limited-edition chocolate koala. As well as being melt-in-your-mouth scrumptious, this cute-as-heck treat is also raising funds for the Australian Koala Foundation. A win-win, really. more

An icon reimagined – say hello to the new-look Atrium Bar at The Star

If you're a Gold Coast local over the age of 25, chances are you have at least one story that involves a wild night at Atrium Bar at The Star. Since its inception in the 80s, the venue's dance floor has witnessed the genesis of countless love stories and has set the scene for many hazy, happy memories. So when news first broke of the beloved Atrium Bar's sudden closure, many long-time locals felt a collective sadness for all the nights they didn't spend dancing to Whitney's 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody'. Thankfully, we weren't without the iconic tipple temple for too long with the brand-new bar officially turning the page on its exciting new chapter on Friday August 27. more

The Drop with Olivia Evans – spring fling with riesling

There’s a feeling of anticipation as the drone of bees fill the backyard and your skin begins to show pink from the day. In shorter words, spring has arrived and what I crave is a glass of riesling. more

Wine and cheese – yes please! Wrap your mitts around a gourmet toastie from Mermaid’s newbie Cheese Me Baby

A mantra we Gold Coasters tend to live by, particularly as we head towards the steamy months, is that happiness is best served melted. Let's be honest, they had us at wine and cheese but there's plenty more to love about this nifty newcomer ...  more

The round-up: pasta houses to Greek gems – must-try restaurants in Coolangatta

So, for those searching for restaurants in Coolangatta, here's a handy list of must-try spots. more
