Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers

Continuing into its 74th year, visitors to the vibrant city of Toowoomba for the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers will once again be wowed with 30 beautiful days of blooms, beats and bites. Be immersed in 190,000 blossoms that will be spread all across the city’s parks, gardens and public spaces, alongside more than 50 events that are sure to please every anthophile. The 2023 program will include the return of the beloved Grand Central Floral Parade (Saturday September 16), Teddy Bear’s Picnic (Saturday September 23) and the Ferris Wheel Program (September 15–30). This year will also see more additions to the Twilight Tours of Laurel Bank Park, giving more flower enthusiasts the opportunity to hear from experts about the darker side of plant life in a one-hour nocturnal tour. Pull up a chair for Cinema Under the Stars, enjoy the sweet sounds of local musicians through the city-wide Heritage Bank Parkland Entertainment program or pamper your pup at the hugely popular Petal and Pups program.

A flavourful feast is what’s promised at the hugely popular Festival of Food & Wine, taking over Queens Park from September 8–10. Be sure to don your stretchiest pants for the Toowoomba Regional Food Trail, which will see local cafes, bars and restaurants offer a signature springtime dish. If you prefer to drink your calories, we suggest embarking on the ultimate pub crawl of four of Toowoomba’s character-filled pubs, while you discover the city’s history, hidden laneways and street art. If that’s not enough, you can indulge in a progressive dining experience, where you will visit three different food venues all via a luxury coach.
