Frank Woodley – Brisbane Comedy Festival 2016

Frank Woodley – Brisbane Comedy Festival 2016

After taking a break from the festival circuit last year, Australia’s bendy-est comedian, Frank Woodley, is back with a new live show for 2016: “Extra Ordinary” – set to be unleashed on comedy lovers during the Brisbane Comedy Festival from Tuesday March 1 to Sunday March 6.

Frank fashions comic nonsense as easily as an origami master turns a sheet of paper into an astoundingly beautiful giraffe that’s not anatomically correct (’cause it’s really hard to make the legs as thin as they should be.) Frank is built from funny – it’s in his bones. Whether he’s being a comedian, clown, actor or acrobat, he is constantly creating characters and worlds for the audiences who have followed him through more than 25 years of professional ridiculousness.

Most recently he has been seen on the big screen playing the part of a creepy dog catcher in the Australian movie, Oddball. He has also been very busy with his writing project –Kizmet, a children’s fiction series about an inquisitive young girl, a cheeky currawong bird and a bumbling detective, which he not only wrote, but illustrated as well. The first two titles are already in reprint, with more books now being written.

But for now, Frank is stepping away from the keyboard and leaping back onto the stage. With his shows a regular sell-out, treat yourself to an evening with one of the country’s most beloved physical comedians  –  it will be anything but plain ordinary.

Presented by Brisbane Powerhouse and Token Events. Starring dozens of international and Australian comedians, Brisbane Comedy Festival is a must-see if you need a giggle, chuckle, cackle or rip-snorter of a good time. Brisbane Comedy Festival goes on sale to the public 10:00 am Tuesday December 1.
