Darren Hanlon

Darren Hanlon returns to The Zoo with his brand new album ‘Where Did You Come From?’ in tow. It’s been 4 years since his last proper release but it’s been worth the wait, with this new collection of songs a dazzling and vibrant experience, some of them already proving live favourites.

The album was conceived during an epic adventure in the American south, recording songs in New Orleans, Memphis, Muscle Shoals, Nashville and Clarksdale, with an array of musicians he met along the way. From legend instrumentalists of popular music Spooner Oldham (Neil Young, Bob Dylan etc), David Hood (Aretha Franklin etc), Howard Grimes (Al Green) to talented unknown buskers and street musicians he just stumbled upon, Hanlon has woven a richly conceived collection of songs steeped in southern Americana but still penned in his inimitable idiosyncratic style.

To present them to you Hanlon will bring his band to the Street Theatre on Friday March 27.
