Brisbane International Film Festival

Refreshed, rebooted, re-invigorated and packing a punch. The 23rd edition of the Brisbane International Film Festival will screen exclusively at Palace Cinemas from Thursday August 17 to Saturday September 3 at Palace Barracks and Palace Centro.

The 2017 program will screen around 60 international and Australian films and will include collaborations with existing Queensland screen culture organisations including the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA), a Queensland Short Film Competition, a free family event, national and international guests, talks, panels and seminars. The opening night film The Square is one of the most biting, contemporary, social commentary films of the year, while part memoir and part concert film The Go-Betweens: Right Here will close out festivities for 2017. An exciting program of films including latest releases fresh from their selection at Cannes, Toronto, Sundance, with Australian Premieres and films shot in our own backyard making their way to Queensland screens for the first time.
