Blonde Redhead – Open Season 2024

Blonde Redhead – Open Season 2024

The NYC avant-rock vets have returned with its warmest, most welcoming music yet – and its bringing it to Brisbane for one night this Open Season.

Last year, US avant-rock legends Blonde Redhead returned with their first album in almost a decade, Sit Down for Dinner. The album is immaculately structured, imbued with sensitivity, clarity, and resolve. Throughout the album, the understated yet visceral melodies create a foil to lyrics about the inescapable struggles of adulthood: communication breakdown in enduring relationships, wondering which way to turn, holding onto your dreams.

Don’t miss Blonde Redhead (composed of Kazu Makino and twin brothers Simone and Amedeo Pace) when they visit Brisbane for the first time in 13 years this June.

This event is presented as part of Open Season – a curated program of music and art running from May to July 2024. Open Season has been supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland’s QASP program, the Strategic Partnerships Fund, and through Live Music Australia – an Australian Government initiative.
