Doggett Street set for new residential development

Newstead’s property market continues to grow, with another residential development in the works for the area. Planned for construction on Doggett Street, the proposed development has recently been submitted for approval.

The DA outlines a nine-storey residential building, comprising of 97 apartments. The mix will break down to ten studio apartments, twenty one-bedroom apartments, 47 two-bedroom apartments and 20 three-bedroom apartments. The development application, submitted by Velichi Pty Ltd, details the development to sit at 67–73 Doggett Street – just up the street from Newstead Brewing Co. and Gasworks Plaza.

The building will take on a sleek design, with highlights of tile, metal and aluminium screening across the facade. Designed by Ellivo Architects, also responsible for Newstead’s La Vida apartments and Yungaba at Kangaroo Point, the new development will feature a landscaped recreational space on the third level, including pool, barbecue, sauna and steam room facilities. The recreation space has been designed to allow for maximum natural light exposure, as well as proposed city views.
