Buŋgul

Buŋgul

Created on country in North East Arnhem Land with the Yunupiŋu family, Buŋgul is a ceremonial celebration of Gurrumul’s final, posthumously released album Djarimirri (Child of the Rainbow), one of the most transcendent albums of our time.

On Friday September 24 and Saturday September 25, music lovers can experience the traditional songs, dances and paintings that inspired Gurrumul’s album in a live performance by Yolŋu dancers, songmen and musicians from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University as well as Camerata, Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra. This magical showcase is directed by Senior Yolngu Don Wininba Ganambarr and Nigel Jamieson and will celebrate the musical legacy of Gurrumul Yunupiŋu.

To grab your tickets to this breathtaking production, pop over to the Brisbane Festival website.

Please note: In case Ms. Rona pays Brisbane a visit and events can’t go ahead, Brisbane Festival will do quick and easy refunds for everyone. So, grab your tickets and dive into the Festival – it’s going to be a blast!
