DREAMSCAPES, Broome to Brisbane

Veteran Courier-Mail political cartoonist Sean Leahy has traded the pencil for the paintbrush for the DREAMSCAPES, Broome to Brisbane exhibition in November.

The exhibition will feature an eclectic collection of paintings and mixed digital media exploring themes from Celtic Mythology and spirituality to politics, poetry and Indigenous issues inspired by Leahy’s life. It features motifs from his childhood, his insights covering politics for over 40 years, as well as his personal journey.

The DREAMSCAPES, Broome to Brisbane exhibition marks Leahy’s painting debut after 42 years as a political cartoonist for publications such as The Courier-Mail, the Australian edition of Time magazine, The Australian, The Bulletin magazine and The West Australian.

The exhibition will open at Aspire Gallery, 53 Kennedy Terrace, Paddington on Wednesday 7 November, and will run until Saturday 17 November. Admission is free and will be open from Wednesdays to Saturdays, 10:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Every painting will be available for purchase.
