For a decade Paul Mumme’s work has explored the absurdities of contemporary life, the dead ends that we encounter and their various causes. Sometimes ridiculous, sometimes banal, his works usually take the form of simple visual jokes that deepen with consideration. Through a variety of media including performance, video, photography, and sculpture, Mumme’s works stimulate humourous reflection on the human condition and its symptoms. For various reasons, Paul Mumme has decided to end his artistic career with this exhibition of his work to date. This art collection in perspective exhibition will survey his entire career’s output and provide detailed insights to the works, their production and the man behind them.
