Suitcase Rummage & Crafternoon

Suitcase Rummage & Crafternoon

Here at Suitcase Rummage we’ve decided it’s time to get crafty! As a part of the Pop Up Suitcase Rummage’s at BRISBANE POWERHOUSE we are hosting a series of Art & Craft Workshops (our Crafternoons) in the lovely greenery alongside the Suitcase Rummage Market. If you are interested in having a Stall at Suitcase Rummage, please register online. Places are limited!

Our workshop for April is making the old thrifty Rag Rug! Join Naomi Huntsman – The Sewloist – (and one of our very own Rummage team) to learn the technique of making Rugs from up-cycled fabric and remnants.

Making Rag Rugs is a great way to up-cycle bed linen, old clothing, and to make use of your growing fabric stash. Using only a safety pin and strips of fabric you will learn to weave together a textural, colourful and beautiful rug!

We will provide a selection of fabrics to work with on the day, however you are more than welcome to bring your own along. If you do, please make sure it is lightweight woven cottons that can be torn easily into strips – this is how we make a Rag Rug.
