Enjoy acoustic beats and picnic treats as the sun sets at West Village’s Sundowner Sessions
With summer just around the corner, it’s time to dust off the picnic rug and camp chairs, and head to West End for an afternoon of great company, eats and beats. That’s right, West Village is bringing back its Sundowner Sessions, with themed live music, delicious food and free face painting taking over The Common throughout November.
From Saturday November 4, soak up the leafy surrounds of West Village alongside live tunes and takeaway treats from one of the precinct’s top-notch eateries. Enjoy soul sounds with RnB flavours on Saturday November 4, then on Sunday settle in for an afternoon of iconic 90s anthems. Your favourite 2000s throwbacks will be the theme of the following weekend, followed by iconic female anthems on Sunday November 19, country classics on Saturday November 25 and feel-good folk on Sunday November 26.
When it comes to the food and drink, we suggest starting at Kürtősh or Picnic Cafe to grab a coffee, then find your spot in The Common to settle in for the afternoon. Once you’re comfortable, create your own smorgasbord of sumptuous eats from Betty’s Burgers, Cheeky Poke Bar, Yamas Food & Drink, Italian Street Kitchen Beirut Bazaar, Ichiban Sushi, IPPIN Japanese Dining, Kürtősh, nodo, Picnic Cafe and Anita Gelato. Whether you feel like a poke bowl from Cheeky Poke, a primo patty from Betty’s Burger, a pizza or pasta (or both) from Italian Street Kitchen, or a Greek feast from Yamas Greek & Drink – there is a palate pleaser for every foodie. Bring along the little ones as there will be free face painting outside the Village Hut.
