TEDxBrisbane performers announced for 2014

Who would have thought that Brisbane would see world-renowned pianist David Helfgott, inspiration for the Academy Award-winning movie Shine, and national living treasure Bob Downe sharing the stage on the same day? This collision of worlds is set to become a reality at TEDxBrisbane 2014 in a day of music set to electrify and inspire. Joining David and Bob will be the incomparable Topology, an internationally recognised new-music quintet, Christopher Tamwoy, who returns to the TEDxBrisbane stage after conquering the Australian festival scene with his prodigious guitar stylings, and the infectiously funny award-winning comedian Mel Buttle. In its national debut, is the Queensland-dreamed Borrowed Verse. Firstly, we celebrate our 15th birthday and secondly, this is the issue we say ‘farewell’ to map magazine, as it’s the last print issue. Twenty years ago I set out to create a magazine that would inspire people to chase their dreams in life.
