World premiere of Floods gushes in to the Queensland Conservatorium

Four-part opera Floods will strike a chord with Brisbane locals as it opens at the Conservatorium Theatre tonight, Thursday September 18.

The 2011 Brisbane floods may have caused a tumult of pain and anguish, but the natural disaster also showed us just how courageous and compassionate our fellow city dwellers are. This resilience and bravery is highlighted in a new production from a cast of young talents from Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, Floods. Four Queensland composers have each contributed a 20-minute opera to create a four-part production celebrating triumph over adversity.

Following a world premiere performance in partnership with Brisbane Festival at the Conservatorium Theatre tonight, Thursday September 18 and a second show on Saturday September 20, the deeply moving production will tour to regional centres around Queensland. Secure your seat for this special show online.
