Sol Natural Foods brings nutritious noms to Fortitude Valley

Those still mourning the departure of Sol Breads from Teneriffe can dry their eyes – Sol Natural Foods is bringing your favourite artisanal breads back to Fortitude Valley, alongside a bounty of natural treats.

The first retailer to open underneath the recently completed Mosaic apartments, Sol Natural Foods brings together the artisan baking processes that Sol Breads are known for, with a myriad of natural and nutritious meals and drinks to take you right through from breakfast to supper. Sol Natural Foods is the brainchild of the clever bunch at Sol Breads in West End, expanding from their much-loved bakery to dish up a menu focusing on local and ethical seasonal produce.

When morning has broken, or even into the afternoon (the breakfast menu runs until 2:00 pm daily), you can sample the likes of butter beans, truss tomatoes and eggs, or asparagus, salmon, dukkah, fetta and eggs, all served with Sol organic sourdough. Come lunch and dinner, nibble on house dips and antipasto, take your pick from the ever-changing cabinet of salads, sandwiches, pastries and tarts, or share in a delectable crusty pizza.  Vegetarians will rejoice at the bounty of veg-friendly options (hello, Greek Potato Head – saganaki, rosemary potatoes and sea salt), while meat lovers are sure to be satisfied with such options as the Chicken Lover, with free-range chicken, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, Spanish onion and brie, or the classic Old Skool, with ham, pineapple and mozzarella. All pizzas can be made gluten free, with a selection also dairy free. Pair your pizza with a beer or organic wine, or opt to take it away to enjoy at home. If you’re not sure whether to have dessert, remember that you only live once. The YOLO pizza will satisfy sweet cravings, topped with Nutella, banana and crushed hazelnuts, or head to the cabinet for a slice of raw chai cake.

Fresh juices and smoothies are created in-house, alongside organic coffee and hot chocolate to accompany sweet treats. Sol Natural Foods will soon be also introducing a range of deli goods, soups and ready-made meals for those looking for a nourishing meal to take home after a long day.
