GURNER launches Flatiron as first stage of Fortitude Valley’s FV development

You may remember The Weekend Edition mentioning earlier this year that Fortitude Valley was soon to gain its very own Flatiron development, inspired by the iconic corner building in Manhattan.

GURNER’s $600-million FV project in Fortitude Valley has now been launched, the first stage being Flatiron – a modern reimagining of the iconic New York landmark. Perched on the corners of Brunswick Street, Alfred Street and Barry Parade, the bronze Flatiron building will contain 354 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments across 30 levels, sitting atop an elevated landscaped podium. At street level, Flatiron will house an array of boutique retail offerings, as well as an al fresco-dining precinct. On Brunswick Street, the overarching FV development will incorporate the heritage of Forester’s Hall with a planned gourmet grocer, cafes, restaurants, bars and a multi-level entertainment venue. The Flatiron’s exterior will the swathed in bronze mesh as a salutation to the afternoon sun, the surface adjustable to suit the angle of the sun and breeze.

The development will also launch its exclusive FV Private Club – a residents-only space on the podium level, including three individually designed private lounges for residents to book, each with its own kitchen, bar, outdoor dining, day beds and private spas. The facility is designed by 360 Degrees landscape architects, know for their world-famous design of The Ivy in Sydney. In addition to the FV Private Club, residents will also gain access to a moonlight cinema, gym, yoga retreat and U-shaped swimming pool featuring a pool bar overlooking the Brisbane River and CBD. On top of all that, FV will also launch a 90-room 4.5-star hotel as part of the precinct.
