ICON development proposed for Northshore Hamilton

Joining the suite of properties planned for the Northshore Hamilton precinct, Wentworth Equities has lodged a development application for ICON, a mixed-use multi-tower project positioned along Hercules Street.

Designed by Sydney firm Custance, the property will comprise three residential towers, including 74 studio apartments, 279 one-bedroom, 176 two-bedroom and 31 three-bedroom apartments. ICON will also feature an additional 34-storey tower, of which the first 15 levels will be dedicated to a five-star hotel, complete with cocktail lounge, restaurant, function room and fitness centre. The remaining floors will include a further 229 residential apartments above the hotel.

The entrance of the hotel will lead in from a pedestrian retail plaza, Hamilton Place, fronted by a collection of retail tenancies, adding to Portside’s existing retail offerings. A gym and child-care centre have also been proposed at the podium level of the development. The Hamilton Place public space will feature ponds and water features, and ICON’s landscaping will aim to incorporate the surrounding parkland and make the most of its riverside location.
