Tucked below Palm Beach Surf Club, Jeffersons is quite literally just footsteps from the ocean. You can stroll in with sandy feet, nab a stool and enjoy the view with a morning latte – or swing in with your surfboard under your arm for a takeaway post-paddle piccolo. Here it’s very much about the coffee, with specialty blends from Burleigh’s popular Social Espresso on pour, as well as cold-brew varieties from local outfit Two Amigos.

There are a few bites to accompany the brews, from locally made protein balls to injected doughnuts baked fresh daily from Currumbin’s Fuel Bakehouse, muffins, pastries, local-sourdough toasties jammed with thick-cut ham, cheese and tomato, as well banana bread with house-made cinnamon butter. There’s also cold-pressed juices and kombucha by the bottle, as well as a stash of communal picnic rugs that you can roll out on the adjacent grassy knoll.
