Join us for an intimate conversation with Italian Artist, Irene Messia. Irene’s work explores what she calls ‘the eternal essence of life’. For Irene, reality is a mysterious and bizarre performance, and her artworks portray characters in the dance of suffering, fear, happiness and joy.

Irene was born in Rome, Italy in 1988. While still at school Irene did additional external studies at San Giacomo Art Academy in Rome as well as the “Accademia Via Ripetta” and then the University of Rome where she studied ‘History of Art’ and graduated in 2014. In 2019 Irene decided to come back to Australia, where she now lives and practises her art as an artist in residence at the Dust Temple.
