UNDERGROUND Festival at HOTA
Three nights of art, performance, music and comedy are taking over HOTA’s intimate spaces from Thursday July 13 to Saturday July 16.
UNDERGROUND is a festival of art, performance, music and comedy, but not as you know it. A place for artists and audiences alike to take risks with interesting ideas and experimental works. Works that explore the present human experience – what enrages us, what liberates us and the obscurity of it all.
The program includes a carefully curated line-up of stand-out talent and awe-inspiring shows, including Part TED talk, part couples therapy Alexa, Turn on the Lights, unique dance presentations Flood The Space and Mickey, interactive digital presentation Rich Kids, A History of Shopping Malls in Tehran, and the hilarious story of female madness, Batshit. More magical performances await at shows like Swamp Fairies, Eden Burns and Nice Girl, Hush, and Welcome the VOiiiD: Licensed to be Weird.
Tantalisingly intimate, always authentic, often hilarious UNDERGROUND celebrates contemporary artists, with a strong focus on profiling local creatives.
