The Street Photographer: Grindhouse Specialty Coffee

A true hole-in-the-wall coffee destination, Grindhouse Specialty Coffee at Stones Corner is tucked inside an old garage, in a carpark, off a laneway, near Logan Road. The walls and ceiling are lined with empty coffee sacks from around the world, making the interior resemble a rustic tent-like ambience. Nestled among the golden tones of the sacks, low wooden tables and ambient industrial lighting is the feature of this espresso bar – a deep red La Marzocco coffee machine. Serving up a number of signature blends across an array of alternative brewing methods, Grindhouse Specialty Coffee is a haven for local caffeine connoisseurs. Ever-changing single-origin blends from the likes of Brazil and Tanzania slot into the menu next to a house blend, all sourced from Dramanti Artisan Roasters at Wynnum and Supreme Roasters at Yatala. Run by Kenesi Bowie (great last name) and Bob (just Bob), at Grindhouse you can try a pour-over, cold vacuum, siphon or aero-press concoction while tapping away on the free WiFi or tucking in to a fig and pecan cookie.
