Mourning Roast
In 2024, Greenslopes residents scored a new coffee spot pouring brew potent enough to wake the dead. Mourning Roast on Logan Road is owned by two coffee veterans Sam and Nadine, who hope to turn Mourning Roast into a community hub for kindred spirits. The duo is looking to elevate the local coffee-drinking experience, making each visit to Mourning Roast akin to daily ritual, where people can pause and savour the richness of life. They’re doing so with a smooth custom coffee blend boasting notes of cacao, caramelised cherry and brown spice, with a lingering richness making it perfect for long blacks and flat whites. Mourning Roast is also serving cold brew and batch brew alongside a tight menu of takeaway eats – think toasties, croissants, white chocolate and macadamia brownies, cinnamon rolls, Caramilk pavlova rocky road and a carrot cake-inspired shortbread jam drop.
