Coco Bliss Superfood Bar opens in Bulimba

Gut-loving goodies abound at new superfood bar, Coco Bliss. Think moreish bowls filled with buckinis and fresh fruit, cold-pressed juices crammed with greens, and not a refined granule of sugar in sight.

The word ‘superfood’ may have you rolling your eyes and simultaneously ordering deep-fried chicken, but even the most steadfast suckers for sugar and starch will be won over by the dishes on offer at Coco Bliss Superfood Bar. The health mecca strips away any semblance of food snobbery, instead focusing on the task of delivering simple, nourishing wholefoods and drinks that taste as good as they look.

Candice and Mellita, the two lasses behind Happy Little Dumplings and Lazy Elephant, have now welcomed third member Jordan into the fold, creating a menu that is 80% organic and packed with vegan, gluten-free and raw-food options. One of the cooks behind Happy Little Dumplings has turned her hand to crafting organic rice paper rolls, which join a selection of wraps and salads in the Coco Bliss cabinet. For a lighter option, tuck into wholesome acai or pink pitaya bowls infused with health-boosting add-ins like goji berries, maca and LSA, or sip on a choc chai frappe or organic Elixir Coffee. Protein shakes boast flavours like choc peanut butter and coco mango, while cold-pressed juices are packed with cleansing ingredients such as kale, cucumber, ginger and lemon.

A selection of raw desserts including the popular gluten-free lemon meringue cheesecake are disappearing from the shelves as quickly as they arrive, with the three co-owners planning to open a late-night dessert bar within the space by December.
