Bar Pacino serves authentic Sicilian to salivating Brisbane dwellers

Bar Pacino is Eagle Street’s newest addition, offering up traditional Sicilian cuisine and paying homage to the old-school gangsters in Hollywood. You don’t need to be a mob boss to dine here, just a combination of hungry and thirsty.

The Petroccitto family and the Bellezza Group have been a Brisbane institution ever since they moved to the city from Sydney 27 years ago. As owners of inner-city coffee houses Bellezza Espresso Bar, Espresso Veloce and Chocolate Soldier, father-and-son team Jim and Giuseppe Petroccitto have long had a singular vision for their signature mark on the Brisbane dining landscape.

Bellezza Group’s latest venture, Bar Pacino, is a vibrant establishment that boasts some of the most impressive river views Eagle Street can offer. With an aesthetic that draws influence from the Petroccitto’s Sicilian heritage, as well as the rugged Italian-American stars of the silver screen, Bar Pacino provides some of the most authentic Italian cuisine this side of the Mediterranean.

From breakfast to dinner and everything in between, Bar Pacino plates up a wide variety of meals that are distinctly Italian. After breakfast, the kitchen serves a selection of share plates, salads, pasta, pizza and meat dishes that wouldn’t be out of place in a scene from The Godfather. Groups can indulge in mixed antipasto plates, beef ragu arancini and charcuterie boards, or sample classics such as chicken parmigiana and lasagne – try not to drool.

Bar Pacino’s cocktail list features a small yet intriguing list of specialty concoctions that maintain the Italian vibe – old meets new as the mixologists on staff experiment with a rich dichotomy of flavours. The Old Musician is one selection that fuses award-winning Yamazaki whisky with lychee and green tea, while The Fountain of Neptune is a share cocktail that blends rosé-based sangria with strawberries and mint. If you are after wine or beer, Bar Pacino has plenty to choose from. Italian wines and specialty beer are available if you fancy a tipple, with the famed Birra Moretti available on tap come January.

The venue has been decked out with bespoke furniture, creating a modern facade that seamlessly blends modern dining with a traditional bent. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows offer spectacular views of Customs House, the Story Bridge and the Kangaroo Point cliffs. The Eagle Street location situates it perfectly as a lunchtime oasis or a place to be seen come night. You don’t need to be a mob boss to dine here, though fans of the odd gangster flick might get a kick out of the vibe.
