Hatori Karaage

Hatori Karaage is the evolution of a market success story. When Yumi and Yun of karaage experts Tasty in Jars grew too popular to cater for the market crowds, they decided to open up a bricks-and-mortar bar where they could offer a larger menu of Japanese and Korean-inspired eats. Karaage is king here, with a sizeable range of chicken, eggplant, prawn and squid karaage (as well as karaage burgers) to sample. Yun and Yuni have also extended the menu well beyond the confines of karaage – various Japanese-inspired eats from miso scallop bowls and wagyu negima skewers to yakisoba, poke and agedashi tofu feature for those that want to really go to town. Behind the bar, patrons can find a concise but choice selection of imported Japanese sake, umeshu (plum wine), Japanese beer, wine, shared cocktails and Yun and Yuni’s signature homemade lemonades, which can be spiked with a dash of vodka upon request.
