Lathering luxury – homeware house Maison Balzac branches into body care

A sudsy new suitor has joined Maison Balzac’s coveted collection of luxury homewares. With euphoric scents, delicate carafes and timeless tableware, this Sydney-based store has quickly become an it-brand for homemakers. And its latest drop – featuring small-batch cream hand soaps of heavenly herbaceous aromas – looks bound for the same cult-status.

Tablescapers worldwide have fallen in love with the unique elegance of Maison Balzac – most recognised for its dreamy candles and bold-hued glassware. When it launched in 2012 by Elise Pioch Balzac, the French-born fashion buyer brought her expert eye of luxury to the world of homewares. Since then, Maison Balzac has been designing considered and classic styles that celebrate – as Elise describes – the mini theatre of dressing our homes. Now, the humble bar of soap has been reimagined by Maison Balzac artistry.

By bringing body care into this already sought-after range, you can now add a touch of luxury to even the kitchen’s most mundane action – washing your hands. Hand-poured and cured in Sydney, the hand soaps come in two earthy and sylvan scents, each inspired by moments in the garden. Le Soleil (‘the sun’) boasts a feminine and intense profile of neroli and tuberose. Whilst Le Matin (‘the garden’),  reinvigorates with the energising freshness of thyme and lemon. Crafted from nourishing plant oils and French clay, these creamy bars were designed to be gentle for both hand and body.

Since true luxury lies in the details when it comes to Maison Balzac, these grandeur soap bars have even been launched alongside the brand’s first soap dish. With the shapes and styles of French antiques, ‘the soap dish’ offers a little Napoleonic pedestal made from bamboo to support your new sudser.

The soap set joins Maison Balzac’s 2024 collection Le Jardin (the garden) which is bannered by a vase constructed from natural wax.
