Restaurant Labart temporarily closes its dining room and introduces chef-cooked takeaway meals

In a proactive response to the ongoing public health crisis, Burleigh Heads dining spot Restaurant Labart has announced it will temporarily close the doors to its dining room from today (Monday March 16) and will instead be offering chef-cooked takeaway dinners to Gold Coast locals.

From this Friday March 20, owners Alex and Karla Munoz Labart will introduce Labart at Home – a series of healthy, nourishing meals created with locally sourced, seasonal produce, which will be available to order online. The menu and online-ordering portal is expected to be live on the Labart website by mid-week, with the first meals to roll out this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Then, from next week, the Labart at Home meals will be available to order online and picked up from the restaurant daily from Wednesday through to Sunday, until further notice.

The take-home meals will be prepared each morning by the Labart chefs, with a rotating selection of dishes that will change daily. The dishes will be rustic and comforting – think chicken coq au vin with potato mash, free-range pork with chickpea and pumpkin casserole, and beef bone-broth minestrone. Plus, there will also be delicious desserts and side dishes to choose from. The meals will range in price from $20–$30 and will be served in biodegradable, recyclable packaging. To start, it will be pick-up only from the restaurant, though a home-delivery service is expected to launch shortly for the local area, with Labart’s front-of-house-team to be delivering to your door (using precautionary methods) in a bid to keep them employed while the restaurant is closed. For more information, head to Labart’s website.
