Pavement Whispers: Fuel Bakehouse is set to open in Burleigh Heads

It’s hard to be unhappy in a bakery. The aroma of sweet doughnuts and pastries coupled with the savoury scent of pies and sausage rolls in the oven is an instant hit of dopamine. In news that’s guaranteed to perk up your pleasure centres, Currumbin and Cabarita’s much-loved Fuel Bakehouse is opening an outpost along James Street in Burleigh Heads. Here’s everything we know so far …

Having won over the Gold Coast’s and northern New South Wales’ pastry-loving populace with its flagship bakery on Currumbin Creek Road and in Cabarita, Fuel Bakehouse has announced a third location in James Street, Burleigh Heads. The hole-in-the-wall spot will transform the former Subway into a new satellite location slinging all of your current Fuel favourites, including its famed doughnuts, savoury pies, cruffins, muffins, breakfasts, lunches, salads and sandwiches. We’re told there may also be a couple of new menu items that will be exclusive to the Burleigh location.

Renovation works are currently underway (including a feature wall by local artist Jamaica Creative) with an estimated completion date set for December 1 (sorry, summer bod). If you prefer your croissant with a side of coffee, Social Espresso’s beans will give you a much-needed pep in your step.

As always, we’ll bring you all of the delicious details when Fuel Bakehouse Burleigh Heads opens its doors.
