School holiday activities at HOTA

The Easter school holidays have arrived! To celebrate, HOTA is hosting a bucket full of kid-friendly fun across April. Here are all of the awesome activities on offer:

Little Music Lab – on the second Friday of each month
Join the HOTA team as they explore singing, music, ukuleles, and sound bowls in this Little Music Lab program designed for mums, bubs, and toddlers. These workshops run once a month over the year and feature different musicians each month to take you on a musical journey of sounds and exploration. Tickets are free but registration is required!

Sea of Light – April 13–18

Embark on a journey of light and imagination in this illuminating interactive installation by Patch Theatre. Traverse the sea with a UV torch as your paintbrush, then paint and stencil your own voyage in light. Steer ships that leave glowing paths of light in their wake, then dive below the surface to uncover glowing inflatables in hidden reef worlds. Tickets are $15.

Wheel of Play – April 13–15
Get your running shoes on and join the lollipop ladies as they lead you on a path full of puzzles, quirky activities, and movements which you never thought possible. The destination – The Wheel of Play! This wheel is all about art-inspired fun with five activities to spin and complete. A $30 ticket includes all activities including badges, hats, creation station, hip-hop workshops and skateboard decks.

TROPIC ARCADIA – 10:00 am to 4:00 pm daily
TROPIC ARCADIA is an unexpected, new travel destination for families! Tongan-Polynesian artist Samuel Tupou has created a curious, pop-up island for you to explore. Discover his colourful patterns inspired by tapa (bark cloth) designs set amongst a surreal, tropical landscape that is part memory, part imagination, part arcade game. The children’s gallery is free and bookings are not required.

Hop to the HOTA website to learn more about these curiosity-piquing events.
